seating upstairs and below, a fully equipped galley, ice
machines, fridge etc. There is also a large shower, spacious
lounge and separate changing rooms as well as a TV, video
and CD player on-board. The local fishing is 4 hours and
the big game fishing is 8 hours. The big game fishing includes
snacks, bar drinks and a light lunch. Wild Thing can also
be hired out for the day.
TRADITIONAL
FISHING
Spend a memorable day fishing from a traditional, wooden
Snoek Boat. Snoek is a long bright, silver fish armed with
a formidable set of razor sharp teeth. (similar to barracuda)
Trips depart from the oldest traditional hand line fishing
Harbour in South Africa, situated in the picturesque town
of Kalk Bay. The crew of local fishermen will teach you
how to catch these incredible fish using a thick handline,
large hook and half a pilchard. These skills have been handed
down from generation to generation During the months of
June to September you will often see Southern Right Whales,
which come to calf in False Bay during these months. Upon
arrival back at Kalk Bay Harbour you will have lunch at
one of the local restaurants where your fish will be prepared
at one of the local restaurants in the traditional Cape
Malay style.
OFF
SHORE GAME FISHING
Deep Ocean Big-Game fishing ranges from 20 to 40 nautical
miles from land and is concentrated mainly on Yellowfin,
Albacore (Longfin) & Bigeye Tuna. Swordfish as well
as Black, Blue or Striped Marlin are also caught. You can
also expect to find vast shoals of Skipjack Tuna which are
great fun to catch. Also present in the deep grounds are
Dorado (Dolphin fish, Mahi Mahi), Yellowtail and the occasional
Wahoo and Long & Shortbill Spearfish. The shoals of
game-fish are found in the warmer currents off the Indian
and Atlantic coast where they feed on the abundance of Pilchard
and Anchovies.

FRESH
WATER & FLY FISHING
A trip into the scenic, rugged valleys surrounded by the
towering mountains of South Africa is an experience you'll
never forget. Setting out at day-break and working your
way up through the clear streams with your guide will bring
you some of the most spectacular Rainbow and
Brown Trout action you could wish for. During the winter
months our guides prefer to take you out into the countryside
to experience the fishing in one of the many spectacular
lakes of South Africa. Tubing or wading around these picturesque
locations is a must for any fly enthusiast and it is in
these lakes that the biggest fish are found.
Other
fishing options include cray-fishing (in Season) and "Beach
& Rock Fishing".
