Tandem
Skydiving
No
training necessary, you are simply attached by a special harness
to a qualified tandem master (TM). You enjoy the ride the
TM does all the work. Freefall briefing + tandem skydive with
video are included.
A Tandem jump is a one on one skydive where you are "attached",
with a special harness to an instructor, and therefore is
the quickest way to experience freefall. You will both exit
the aircraft and freefall for about 40 seconds at a speed
of 120 mph at which time the instructor will pull the ripcord
to deploy a parachute that is specifically designed for two
people. You will then assist the instructor in guiding the
parachute to a target on landing at the drop zone.
Tandem jumping is the easiest way to enjoy this experience
of a lifetime. The training for a tandem jump takes approximately
20 minutes and is taught at the drop zone. To do a Tandem
Skydive you must get parental permission if you are younger
than 21 and weigh no more than 100 kgs. If you exceed our
recommended weight limit, call for additional information.

Static
Line First Jump
Here
your parachute is opened automatically as you exit the aircraft.
Ground School + first jump are included.
The
traditional static line training takes about 5 to 6 hours,
the 1st half of your training includes a classroom discussion
along with detailed briefing that teaches you see exactly
what you'll be doing on your first jump. The briefing includes
aircraft & exit procedures, landings, emergencies, and
muc h
more. The training continues with hands-on practical exercises
on body positions for exits, emergency situations, and landing
techniques.
You should arrive at the drop zone at 8 am on a Saturday morning
to start the course. Upon completion of your training you
will be ready for your first jump. Assisted by a Jumpmaster
you will put on your parachute harness container system and
will be checked out on aircraft exit procedures. You will
do your first jump on Saturday afternoon (weather depending).
Once at the designated jump altitude of 3500 feet, your jumpmaster
will dispatch you from the aircraft. As you exit and fall
away from the airplane, the static line automatically pulls
the parachute from the container on your back and begins the
opening process. The Static Line progression consists of 8
static line jumps and 17 freefall jumps. Upon completion of
this progression you will qualify for an "A" License
and be classified as a category one skydiver. The cost for
your 2nd and subsequent jumps will be R210 which includes
gear hire and packing.
