/ Apartheid Museum (full day)
A quick glimpse of Joburg as we explore the city highlights and
make our way towards Soweto, South Africa’s largest township,
with over 3 million inhabitants. On this guided tour we visit
the Hector Peterson Museum, where we relive the events of 16 June
1976 and take a drive by the houses of Winnie Mandela, Bishop
Desmond Tutu and the ever-popular Nelson Mandela. The tour includes
a visit to a community project in one of Soweto’s many squatter
camps and experience first hand, what the life in Soweto and urban
townships are all about.
To enrich your journey through the past, we visit the Apartheid
Museum in Johannesburg. The museum aims to communicate the basic
principle behind apartheid. This is a very intense stopover but

conveniently located about 2 hours drive outside Johannesburg,
in the North West province. This internationally renowned holiday

attractions range from luxury hotels, a casino and entertainment
centre for those trying out their luck and outdoor activities
such as golf and watersports for the more adventurous.

Pilanesberg Game Reserve (full
day)
Pilanesberg
National Park is set in eroded remains of a 1,2 billion year old
volcanic crater. The Park, which covers some
55 000 hectares, is the fourth largest game reserve in Southern
Africa and is situated about 180km northwest of Pretoria. This
malaria free park plays host to 360 bird species, the nocturnal
brown hyena, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and the much sought after
“Big 5”. Includes all entry fees, transport, guide
and light picnic lunch.

Game Reserve (overnight)
A
one-night getaway in the fourth largest game reserve in South
Africa. We leave Pretoria as the sun rises and begin our journey
to the North Western province. Lunch is served in the park, where
after we begin our search for the much sought after “Big
5”. A traditional dinner is enjoyed around an African log
fire as we listen to the sounds of the night. On the second day,
we rise early to depart on the morning game drive, after which
we return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast, we are off
to Sun City – “South Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure”.
The day is spent lying around in the sun and just relaxing after
which we return home to Pretoria. Includes all entry fees, transport,

Ndebele
Village
We
head towards Kwandebele, former homeland of the Ndebele. This
traditional village with its hospitable people will take you on
an unforgettable journey into the Ndebele culture and its various
traditions and striking architecture. We enjoy lunch at a traditional
restaurant where after we visit the Ndebele Foundation of Fransina
Ndimande and the homestead of Esther Malangu. Clients are also
offered the opportunity to stay overnight (own cost R 80pp) at
the village to gain an even deeper insight into the art and lives
of the Ndebele people. This community project need your support.

Cultural Experience
Lesedi
is a multi-cultural village set amongst the pristine bushveld
and rocky hills less than an hours drive north of Johannesburg.
This is a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant and colourful
traditions of the Basotho, Ndebele, Pedi , Xhosa and Zulu people.
The evening starts with an interactive video and dance session
depicting the history, culture, myths and legends of five traditional
cultural groups of South Africa.
The evening culminates in “Nyama Choma”, the greatest
African feast, where a wide variety of meat, such as warthog,
kudu, crocodile, ostrich and impala grace the buffet along with

Centre. De Wildt is a research and breeding centre that is renowned

of game. Game drives with experienced Satour registered guides,
allows visitors to experience the wildlife close up, and on a
night drive the fascinating nocturnal habits of animals can be
observed.

Caves (1/2 day)

in a dolomite hill in the Isaac Stegman Nature Reserve, this is
the site of the famous Mrs. Ples (Plesianthropus Transvaalenis)
discovered by Dr Robert Broom, who once described this as the
anthropological treasure house of the world. One hour guided tours
are conducted on the half hour from Tuesday to Sunday. Our museum
houses some of the fossils found in the cave, and refreshments
may be purchased from close by.
Transport, entrance fees and service of a guide is included.

Pilansberg Game Reserve &
Sun City (Overnight) For
those with limited time this is an ideal opportunity to experience
the best of bush, beach and glitter.
Day 1
We depart early in the morning, travelling North West to Pilansberg
National Park, 1 1/2 hours drive away from Pretoria. The park
is nestled in an eroded volcanic crater and stretches over 44
000 hectares, the 4th largest National Park in South Africa. As
we enter the park the search begin for variety of bird life and
the "Big 5” roaming the plains of this Crater. We “game
drive” the whole day, stopping at waterholes and picnic
spots for breakfast and lunch.
At sun set there would be an opportunity for a night drive to
view nocturnal animals and bird life, conducted by park rangers
in their open vehicles. (Own cost R 170pp)
Dinner is enjoyed around open fire. We overnight in comfortable
safari tents. (B L D)
Day 2
After early morning coffee and rusks the day starts with a 4 hour
walking safari (own cost R 240pp) or early morning game drive
till breakfast. At midday when the heat becomes too much for animal
activity, we set off to Sun City for a quick glimpse of glitter
and beach at the Valley of the Waves. Lunch is enjoyed at one
of the many restaurants in the complex (own cost). At 15:30 we
head back to Pilansberg on our last game drive to search for those
animals we have not yet found. We return back to Pretoria when
the gates of the park close, to arrive in Pretoria at 20:00. (B)
